Being in Mrs. Wong’s Earth and Space, this class is trained to constantly identify rocks, and try to learn as much about everyone we see. Earth and Space is a Grade twelve course, where we focus on earth materials, geologic history, and exploring all of space. We were excited for our very first field trip to sit in on Lectures, mini-classes ran by University of Toronto students, and tours of the St. George Campus, taking place on Thursday, October 10th.
Everyone had paid the fees, ran through the instructions, and all arrived on time (except me totally getting lost… photos are important) to our first class, Geologic Hazards in the Earth Sciences Department. Adventures (Field Trips) always start with rules. So we all were strictly told to look like university students, to look like we belonged in the building, not jumping around as York Mills students’ second nature. Next year, we would be running downtown in the morning regardless.
