On Wednesday, October 31st, the day of Halloween, student council organized a costume contest in the cafeteria. The festive contest was judged based on the amount of cheers each contestant received from the student body within their category.

Grade 12 BOH: Perfect As Is

“Perfect as is”, is the Grade 12 BOH Class’s slogan. Printed in white, immaculate letters across their shirts, “Perfect as is” exceeds the purpose of a mere catchy phrase, but rather as an advocate for heightening mental awareness in and out of the York Mills student body.
Spooky survey

All throughout the month of October, people have been bundling up in thick sweaters and warm scarves, brewing a steaming cup of hot chocolate or pumpkin spice latte and preparing for what they like to call “spooky szn”. So, in the spirit of spooky szn, a survey was conducted to find out what students (and others) were planning, leading up to the day of Halloween.

York Mills Athletic Council, also known as YMAC, promotes an active lifestyle by organizing and running all of York Mills’s athletic events.
Throughout the year, YMAC runs intramurals and drop-ins, where any student can participate in a friendly game with other students at York Mills. YMAC members also run after-school sports by setting up equipment and scorekeeping. Other athletic events, such as the Three-Point Shootout, was planned by YMAC to raise money in order to help the school.

Gather around the crackling fireplace to hear a story you will never forget. The things I have seen are much too horrific to imagine for a mundane mind. Peeling skin shedding with blood seeping through, demons, monsters, and of course mannequin heads, are all reapers of good. What makes a team successful? Well, our very own York Mills Senior Boys Soccer team is a great example and we will look at their success to answer this question. Working hard, being committed and focused, and having discipline are just a few qualities that brings this team their success.
Pass…Shoot…Score! — “Jelly Fam” Won YMCI Basketball Intramurals

Thursday, November 1st
Thursday, November 1st, marked the day that YMAC hosted the Basketball Intramural Final during lunch in the double gym. A lot of students came in and cheered for their favorite teams. The two teams, including 4 starters and 1 bench player per team, brought the audience a wonderful and fiery 15-minute game. Even though there was a various of difficulties and conflicts during the game, team members from both sides stayed calm and handled them very well as a group. The game ended with a score of 26-20 which announced the winner of YMCI Basketball Intramurals — “Jelly Fam”! After a total of five games of the season, including two preliminaries, a quarter, semi-final, and final, the hard work and excellent skills of “Jelly Fam” have finally made them the champion of the Intramurals.
