The Toronto Zoo: A Day Among the Animals

On Friday November 9th, the grade 11 biology classes went to the Toronto Zoo for a field trip prepared to have a good time.
Mr. Xeroulis and Ms. Phung’s classes arrived early in the morning, ready to have an enjoyable experience encountering their favourite animals. The weather may have been unwelcoming; however, the students did not let that discourage them.

On Tuesday, October 30th Ms. Badger and Mr. Doe’s English classes hosted Magicon! This convention took place in Titan hall throughout the whole day and other teachers, classes and staff members came to take a look!
Mr Bernardes and His Olympic Experience

York Mills has a wide team of interesting and talented teachers but did you know York Mills has a former olympic athlete among them? Mr Bernardes is known around the school as a gym and APS teacher and also the coach of the junior basketball team but some people may not know that he was also an athlete that participated in bobsled events in the 1988 Calgary olympic games for Portugal. I asked Mr Bernardes a few questions to get some details on his unique olympic experience.

On Wednesday, October 31st, the day of Halloween, student council organized a costume contest in the cafeteria. The festive contest was judged based on the amount of cheers each contestant received from the student body within their category.

Grade 12 BOH: Perfect As Is

“Perfect as is”, is the Grade 12 BOH Class’s slogan. Printed in white, immaculate letters across their shirts, “Perfect as is” exceeds the purpose of a mere catchy phrase, but rather as an advocate for heightening mental awareness in and out of the York Mills student body.
Spooky survey

All throughout the month of October, people have been bundling up in thick sweaters and warm scarves, brewing a steaming cup of hot chocolate or pumpkin spice latte and preparing for what they like to call “spooky szn”. So, in the spirit of spooky szn, a survey was conducted to find out what students (and others) were planning, leading up to the day of Halloween.
