NEWCOMERS PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST

In order to celebrate the Halloween spirit at York Mills C.I, Newcomers club hosted a Pumpkin Carving Contest. The club’s members created teams beforehand and came up with team names. Some of the names included The Noise Makers, Pumpkin Pies, Dead Love, etc. Students who were not in the Newcomers club were also able to join, but they had to already have a team and name.

Take your Child to work day

On November 6, ‘Take your child to work day’ took place across Canada. With more than 250 000 students participating this year, we got to experience a day in the work field of our parents. My experience was rather very interesting and enjoyable. I followed my mother who works as a manager of student services at an international school of Screen Shot 2019-11-24 at 2.16.51 PMlanguage learning, ILSC. It is a company located across Canada and Australia. It invites students as young as eight years old to come to Canada and learn English in an English-speaking country. The students would spend one or two semesters here doing sightseeing in the morning and classes in the afternoon.
