It is already the middle of November and snow has blanketed the city several times. The holidays are coming soon, and we can hear the sleigh bells of Santa Claus ringing on his way. The York Mills Marching Band has already been part of the holiday atmosphere as they performed at the Santa Claus Parade in Richmond Hill on Saturday, November 17.

The year 2018 is almost over, and the new year is just around the corner. Many people have already decided to make 2019 a year to remember, and with new movies coming out it’s certain it’s going to be a great year. After conducting a survey on which movies the students of York Mills were most excited to see, it was clear the upcoming movies were not going to disappoint.

The SEQUEL’s out so it’s probably a good time to review what you’ve seen in the first movie. Do not fear non-majs / muggles (those who haven’t bothered to watch the movie), there will be no death-inducing spoilers in this review. It’s the year 1926 and a Hufflepuff / magizoologist (Newt Scamander) has just finished his global expedition to document magical creatures. On his way back to England, he stops over at New York where bad things were meant to happen. His suitcase (containing a trillion magical creatures) gets switched with a similar looking one belonging to a no-maj. Trouble begins to brew and before you know it, Newt gets sucked up into the American wizarding world.
At the start of the 2018-2019 school year, York Mills has introduced a number of new teachers to the school; many of which within the science, math, language and art department. In September, came two new teachers covering all those fields, Ms Sobers and Mr Jardeleza.
